I joined the Activcore Performance team in Atlanta, GA in April 2023. An Atlanta native and Juilliard trained professional dancer, I discovered Gyrotonic during my time in Chicago dancing at Hubbard Street, one of the preeminent dance companies in the United States. My dance career has also included performing in the cast of Hamilton. I now teach dance around Atlanta, and I am thrilled to be on the Gyrotonic teaching team at Activcore. Here are 5 questions and answers, so that you can get to know me better:
1. Why did I choose to join the Performance team at Activcore?
I wanted to continue to share Gyrotonic exercise with those around me.
2. What do I love about teaching Gyrotonic?
I love how Gyrotonic movement makes people feel good, with no negative side effect. If I can help people feel well, if only for an hour, I like those odds.
3. How would I describe my teaching style?
My approach is “easy like Sunday morning.” I want clients to feel like they can accomplish anything (...and they can) with a little effort! The only way to maximize that potential is to create a calm healing environment. Once I do that, I challenge my clients to reach for a few more reps and discover a deeper capacity for movement, beyond the superficial. I want them to leave each session with me with a better awareness of their own bodies, and a clearer sense of how to heal themselves.
4. Besides Gyrotonic, what else do I do?
I dance! I also enjoy watching live sports.
5. How does someone contact me?
I am available to clients on Mondays and Wednesdays at Activcore. You can reach me at Activcore Druid Hills.
