I joined the Activcore Performance team in Atlanta, Georgia at the start of 2023. My mission has been to empower the mind and body to bring you closer to your super-powered human self. Here are 5 questions and answers, so that you can get to know me better:
1. Why did I choose to join the teaching team at Activcore Druid Hills?
When I connected with Activcore, I was attracted to the holistic approach to healing the body with multiple modalities, blending Redcord, Pilates and Gyrotonic exercise. There is no one way to heal the body. Activcore’s approach recognizes this and their offerings provide a variety of ways to help clients and members. That was exciting to see and be a part of.
2. What do I love about teaching Pilates?
I love that it's an ongoing practice that continuously teaches me more about the body and how our core supports movement. I have been a student of Pilates for more than 20 years, first as a student and then as a teacher. When I began teaching Pilates, I had experience teaching other fitness modalities, such as strength and conditioning, HITT, rowing, resistance training, dance cardio and barre. Though all of these modalities felt different from Pilates, in the approach, they all informed me in a way about how to strengthen the body through different entry points.
3. How would I describe my teaching style?
I have come to Pilates as an athlete and dancer first, so my approach is thoughtful and grounded in that experience. If an exercise is unfamiliar to your body, I am problem solving through how to make it work, whether there are modifications we implement, change apparatuses or exchange another exercise that will give a similar outcome. I am encouraging and will empower you along the way to your fitness goals.
4. Besides Pilates, what else do I do?
I am a dancer. I am also an actor. You may have seen me in a few Target commercials, on a film or two or three, or on stage with Cirque du Soleil.
5. How does someone contact me?
I am available for private and duet sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Activcore. If you would like to schedule a performance training session with me, book here.
You can also reach me at Activcore Druid Hills.
