Unlock Your Pilates Potential: The Benefits of Semi-Privates

In the world of fitness, finding the perfect balance between personalized attention and the motivating energy of a group setting can be a challenge. That's where semi-private Pilates sessions at Activcore shine. At our Atlanta (Druid Hills) location, we specialize in classical Pilates instruction led by comprehensively trained instructors.

Our small group classes, typically consisting of 3-5 students, offer a unique blend of individualized instruction and community accountability to help you experience the whole body health benefits of a regular Pilates practice. Unlike the Pilates-inspired group fitness classes that seem to be popping up left and right, our approach is rooted in the classical Pilates system. Classical Pilates teachers follow a specific order of exercises, executed across multiple pieces of equipment, with a focus on building strength, stamina, coordination, control and breath capacity.

Simply put, while Pilates-inspired group fitness workouts might be fun and challenging, it doesn’t compare to the transformative power of the real thing. This is the movement system how Joseph Pilates himself designed it.

Our instructors, all comprehensively trained in classical Pilates, utilize multiple apparatus – from the mat to the tower, reformer, and chair – to craft sessions tailored to the unique skills and needs of the clients present that day.

At Activcore, we believe in the power of personalized instruction, where every client receives the attention they deserve. While many people benefit from private instruction, the semi-private setting actually helps clients get the best of both worlds.

One of the key advantages of semi-private Pilates at Activcore Druid Hills is the opportunity to experience a more independent workout while still receiving guidance from a trained classical Pilates instructor.

Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the system or an experienced practitioner seeking to refine your technique, the semi-private setting allows your instructor to tailor your session to suit your specific needs and goals.

Semi-private sessions also foster a sense of camaraderie and accountability among participants. Sharing the journey with like-minded individuals who are striving towards similar fitness goals can be incredibly motivating and inspiring. As you progress together over time, you'll not only build strength and flexibility but also forge meaningful connections with your fellow Pilates enthusiasts.

Activcore Druid Hills offers Semi Private sessions Monday-Saturday. You can access our schedule to book your next visit.

Gyro What? Understanding the Gyrotonic Expansion System

When Activcore and CORE merged earlier this year in Atlanta, we introduced a new movement method to our suite of services: the Gyrotonic Expansion System®. This system has two parts: 1) Gyrotonic® exercise which is performed on specialized equipment, and 2) Gyrokinesis® work which is performed on a chair and/or mat.‍ If you’ve been at Activcore lately, you might have seen the equipment in our back room. The Gyrotonic® equipment uses a system of weights and pulleys to simultaneously offload body weight, similar to the Redcord suspension system.
