Everyone has a pelvis, so just about every BODY could benefit from better pelvic health. Your pelvis serves many important functions. As the center connection point between your upper and lower body, it is core to the way you move, breathe, and regulate normal bodily processes like voiding urine. The pelvis also protects your delicate organs, while anchoring the powerful muscles of your hips, thighs, and abdomen during physical activities. But what happens when your pelvis gets in your way of enjoying life?
Are you experiencing any type of incontinence? Bowel and bladder function can be affected by many factors such as diet, lifestyle, behavior, psychological factors, and muscle functioning. Dysfunction in the pelvic floor can lead to and contribute to bowel and bladder issues. Many diagnoses are treatable through pelvic health physical therapy. LEARN MORE
Breast cancer rehabilitation is considered a specialized segment of physical therapy. It is intended for anyone who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer ("Prehab") or is at any point along a course of medical care including radiation, chemotherapy, alternative treatments, and/or surgical interventions (lumpectomy, mastectomy, reconstructive surgery, etc.). Our breast cancer specialists are fully equipped to help minimize the effects of oncology treatment. They are also specially trained to gently guide you into more progressive physical activities for a safe return to sports and everyday life. LEARN MORE
Following surgical procedures, the body is focused on healing. However, the surgical process can leave you with tissue and musculoskeletal changes that impact daily function. Your body adapts in the short term, but for sustainable movement in the long-term, those musculoskeletal changes need to be addressed. Aftercare for gender affirming surgeries should include physical therapy to optimize healing, address post-operative scars and tissue changes, and restore safe, pain-free movement. LEARN MORE

The pelvis serves many vital functions for kids. As the center connection point between the child's upper and lower body, it is core to how they move, breathe, and regulate normal bodily processes like bowel and bladder function. Most children by the age of 2 years old are ready to be potty trained. In some cases though, the child may not be ready and continue to leak urine throughout the day or night. Urinary incontinence could be normal for their age but there does come a time when children should be dry during both the day and night. A pediatric pelvic health specialist can determine why they're still having accidents and how to help. LEARN MORE
Just like any other muscle in the body, the pelvic floor muscles can succumb to injury and dysfunction. The pelvic floor is made up of muscles and fascia that form a sling spanning across the bottom of your pelvis. It consists of 14 muscles in people with female genitalia, and 12 muscles in people with male genitalia. All of these muscles, in combination with other “core” muscles, must be functioning properly to ensure a healthy pelvis. Together they support your organs, reinforce upright posture, and help control bladder, bowel, and sexual function. LEARN MORE
During pregnancy, the body goes through many musculoskeletal and hormonal changes that can alter core and pelvic floor function. These changes help support the growing baby, but they can also lead to pain and dysfunction for the mom. Studies show that about 50% of women will experience lower back pain during their pregnancy and this pain can continue to persist postpartum. Due to the increased pressure on the pelvic floor, it is also common to have difficulty with bowel, bladder, and sexual function. LEARN MORE
Pelvic health physical therapists have undergone advanced post-graduate training in order to effectively evaluate and treat the muscles of the pelvic floor following prostate cancer treatment (radiation, chemotherapy, surgery, etc.). They are specially trained to assess pelvic floor functioning as well as overall core functioning and develop a treatment plan geared toward optimizing your quality of life post-surgery. LEARN MORE
Do you have pain or fatigue in your neck or back, slouch a lot, or find it hard to sit up straight? Whether you've been diagnosed with postural imbalances or scoliosis, Activcore's unique neuromuscular approach helps restore strength and muscle control to both improve alignment and correct dysfunctional movement patterns for sustainable results. There are also customized programs for adolescents and teens to teach them how to live and move better in their growing bodies. LEARN MORE
One of the domains of pelvic health is sexual health. In PT, we consider the role of the pelvic floor muscles as part of the greater system of the body and how they play into the sexual response cycle. Many sexual dysfunctions have roots in pelvic floor dysfunction. The pelvic floor moves and changes depending on where the body is in the sexual response cycle. LEARN MORE
Not all physical therapy is the same. In the conventional healthcare system, physical therapists are forced to juggle multiple patients per hour. They use cookie cutter treatments and typically spend more time on their computer than with you.
You are never treated like a number at Activcore. Our physical therapists focus on one person at a time, applying skilled hands-on techniques and corrective exercises for the fastest results possible. LEARN MORE
If you've ever had a sports injury, concussion, pregnancy, surgery, cancer or any health condition, you should see a physical therapist. Our team of movement experts will test your whole body to identify any hidden muscle imbalances that hold you back from feeling, moving or performing at your very best. Besides restoring a better quality of life as it relates to movement, we can also help prevent the recurrence of injury through ongoing fitness training.
Everyone has a pelvis so just about every BODY could benefit from better pelvic health. Many physical events (injury, illness, surgery, pregnancy, etc.) tend to pull your body out of balance and into a cycle of pain and dysfunction. Your pelvis often plays a vital role in this, as the center connection point between your upper and lower body. It is core to the way you move, breathe and regulate normal bodily processes.

You don't need a prescription unless you have Medicare.

"I have been going to Activcore for the past month and I could not be happier with my results. Post-pregnancy I had been suffering from upper and lower back pain and pelvic floor dysfunction which I was told post-delivery would resolve. But it didn't. Since starting Activcore, my back pain has resolved and I have made significant gains in my core and overall upper and lower body strength. I have to say at first I was skeptical because I have many friends, who even years after pregnancy, still suffer from post-pregnancy problems. Within a few visits I could feel the difference. I have even been able to carry over what I learned into my workout routine, which I can now perform pain free!"
